My Style At Dubai Fashion Week A/W 2010

One of the Dubai’s It Girl readers requested that I show more of my personal style on the blog. So I decided to dig deep and find some shots of me that were taken at Dubai Fashion Week. I was so busy running up and down the venue interviewing designers, blogging on site, and viewing runway shows, that I barely had time to eat, let alone take photos of myself. It was not priority for me at the time. However, through all the chaos...my dad, brother and friends took it upon themselves to take a few pictures of me.
Thank you guys!
Dubai Fashion Week: Day one                                            Day Two                                                          Day Five
As far as my style goes, I wanted to do something different with the clothes I was going to wear during DFW. So, I decided to design my own outfits. My mom and I sat down and came up with some really cool ideas, but we only had five days to pull it off. Five outfits in five days! Thank goodness my mother had some old sketches of designs that she drew from when she was in High school. They were all from the 80’s, which was perfect for what I wanted to wear.
Day Four-The photo above was take by Mariyah (Mahryska's Daily Dose Blog) of 77 Street Productions.
To make a really long story short, we were able to buy fabric, have our pattern maker cut the pieces for each dress, and then took them to our tailor to sew them together, one per day for four days. Day one was buying the fabric and accessories. It was a challenge, but it got done! I’m not sure if I want to take it upon myself to design my clothing again, even though we received so many compliments. That week, I learned that being a designer takes dedication and hard work. I take my hat of to all the “real” designers around the world! Bravo!

So what do you think of my style?  Do I have what it takes to become a designer? You tell me...and don't forget to
"Tell'm I told You!"

Nia, congrats!! OK I love your personal style! and when I first came across your blog I remember thinking everything you wear must be super expensive, and so I was pleasantly surprised to find out you wear a lot of affordable items & mix high & low. I love that! Love the day 2 outfit.

Also - you are seriously one of the prettiest girls I have ever seen! and you seem so down to earth.
