Dubai Fashion Week S/S 2010- Day 3

Homa Q

Homa has some the most beautiful abayas I've ever seen! She really knows how the Middle Eastern woman wants to look. These abayas are classy, sophisticated and airy. I really like the tassels and beaded sleeves...and they are a bit more dressier than the average abaya...so, if you have a formal event to attend this season, then this is the type of abaya you would want to wear and make a statement! I must also mention that Homa is a lovey young designer, and I really loved her enthusiasm for abaya design.

ESTINNA by Tina G. Bedi

Sexy, sexy and sexy is the only word to describe this collection by ESTINNA. The designer, Tina G. Bedi, really focused on making this line fun and flirty! The sea blue fabrics are gorgeous and the prints are Spring-time ready. This is seriously a body-conscious collection for the girl who really knows who she is! Can't wait to get one of these dresses...what about you?!

Troy Costa

I was pleasantly surprised when I first saw Troy Costa's line at the fitting for Dubai Fashion Week. I was so impressed, that I even asked if he could make his tie-dyed men's shirt to fit me! LOL...but really, I thought this was a fantastic collection for men. Any man would look classic, trendy and stylish in these threads. The detail of the blazers were flawless, and the plaid trousers/shorts were so cool! My brother's are always saying that there are not enough fashion choices for men in Dubai...but now, Troy has come to town bringing hope to all men. I just hope Dubai takes notice!

Beenas & B'jouel

Any designer that can make a jalabiya out of organic material, lace it with gold, price it at 500,000 dirhams, and sell it to a client before it was constructed, has my attention! Beenas & B'jouel are fashion designers that have shown us a collection of royal status. The jalabiya's were all luxurious, regal and feminine. This collection was the perfect marriage between fashion jewelry and clothing design. Well done!

Ekta Singh

Red is a hot color this season, and if you don't have anything red in your closet as of yet, don't look any further...Ekta Sing has the perfect thing for you! Her collection this season is filled with fire colors, such as reds, oranges and deep yellows. I really liked the originality of the vertically stripped shear fabric, which looked tre-chic and could easily be thrown over a bathing suit as a sexy approach to modesty. The long dresses that were worn by the models, floated down the runway like they were walking on clouds. The embroidery designs were modern and made beautifully to accentuate each and every garment...and best of all,the collection is made for all body types! Now, what woman doesn't love that?!

HSY by Hassan Sheheryar Yasin

Well he came, he presented and he conquered! I am talking about...the one and only... Hassan Sheheryar Yasin, creator of HSY! "Wow", is the perfect response to this Spring/Summer 2010 collection. The runway show was a combination of HSY'a sports and couture lines. The sports collections captured the fashion lifestyle of any city "it" girl or guy on the go, and the couture collection was all about Bollywood glam! My favorite piece was the brown leather jacket with the satin bow tie ribbon belt. Very professional and very well executed...HSY!

Dubai Fashion Week S/S 2010- Day 2

Al Jaziri Moters Presents Lamborghini

Photos by "Des" of Harry Cruz Photography

Lamborghini hit the stage with a sporty look this season that any guy or gal can wear. I loved the trench coats-they looked so chic! The boots were rad as well. I can definitely see myself looking fabulously slick by wearing these casual and comfortable clothes...especially if I were wearing them driving a Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SV!!!

"Kanzi" by Sheikha Amal Al Maktoum and Raghda Taryam

Photos by "Des" of Harry Cruz Photography

This dynamic dual, Shiekha Amal Al Maktoum and Raghda Taryam of "Kanzi", are just too fabulous to effectively describe! My mom and I loved, loved, loved their designs-with the use of embellishing the abayas with feathers and beautiful gold embroidery-these designs are FABULOUS! The gowns were just as stunning and vibrant...and the wedding dress...what a master piece! If you ever wanted to be a Grecian Goddess, then you better buy one of these garments...it's as close as you'll get! LOL I love KANZI!

Hatem & Troy by Hatem Alakeel

Milan Men's Fashion week...look out...because Hatem Alakeel's is definitely a contender to be one of the fashion world top men's designers! Fortunately, we had the pleasure of seeing his innovative thobe designs on our runway for the S/S 2010 Dubai Fashion Week. Not only did he show us what a "modern man" wears, but his line of trendy t-shirts, sports wear (for man and women) and cute dresses were just as impressive! The attention to detail and the construction of all the Hatem & Toby collection was impeccable, to say the least. I know what I'll be buying for my dad next holiday..and myself too! lol

They are all very talented and deserve to be applauded for their efforts to create something innovative and new. I hope to see more from these young and ambitious designers in the future. Great job and wishing you all much success!

I thought you all would like a sneek peek into the back stage preparation for Dubai Fashion week. These photos were taken by my good friend and photographer, Martin Von Den Driesch. They are well done and really capture the true essence of what really goes on behind the scenes. I absolutely loved the make-up and hair of each and every show. Dessange Paris (hair) and L'Oreal (make-up) did a fantastic job! Looks kinda like Paris Fashion Week, if you ask me...but it's not...it's Dubai Fashion Week...DFW S/S 2010 is FABULOUS!
