The Bui Trend Report A/W 2010

RUNWAY LOOKS

1. The Shearling
After attending the Barbara Bui A/W 2010 Runway show in Paris, I have been obsessed with the clothing line. Talk about hip, chic and trendy, the Bui collection has it all! I remember living in New York, as a child, and wearing a cute little full length shearling coat that my mom bought me for the winter weather. Now that Barbara Bui has reinvented the style of this classic winter coat, I can now enjoy wearing it again!

2.  Sportswear Chic

3. Flares

4.  Intricate Details
Leather has become a favorite Autumn/Winter fashion statement this year, and no one has created a variety of fashionable leather designs better than Barbara Bui. Just take a look at the tailoring; the detailing and the splashes of color that went into making these gorgeous animal skin ensembles. Who knew that so much leather could look so good?!

5. More Trendy Elements

FOOT WEAR AND ACCESSORIES

With all this fabulous clothing, you have to pare it up with the perfect shoes and accessories, right? Well, Barbara Bui has done that for you too! The boots in this collection are to die for. I can’t wait to put my feet into the stiletto Hiking Boots. I don’t know how much hiking I will be doing in these boots, but I do know that I will be getting a lot of mileage out of them by wearing them on my shopping expeditions, and during my boutique hopping excursions, as well as partaking in mall explorations. LOL

1.  Hiking Boots and Animal Print Purses
2.  Divine Access
3.  Black and White

That’s it for The Barbara Bui Trend Report A/W 2010! I hope you enjoyed it, and I look forward to seeing you trendy and chic in Barbara Bui!

What’s your favorite item in this collection? Are you a fan of leather or pleather? Let me know what you think by dropping me a comment, and remember…don’t forget to

In Memory of...A Fashionable Cause to Help

In Memeory of...

Today, I received an email from a reader who lost his sister last year to a senseless accident in the UAE, asking me to inform my readers/follower about his petition to remove something as simple as a U-turn sign, which can save lives. Although I focus on fashion, I do have an obligation to my readers to listen to their ideas, opinions or what ever they feel is important. I believe this subject should be addressed, and it is appropriate for me to inform all of you about the dangers on the roads that kill innocent people─ traffic accidents being one of the main causes of death in the United Arab Emirates.

Here is what happened: Suraya was on her way to the last day of class at her University, when a driver made an illegal U-turn resulting in the death of this young and beautiful aspiring fashion designer. Shockingly enough, this was not the first time that someone had been killed at the same intersection for the same reason. The crash could have been prevented by blocking the lanes which could prevent these reckless drivers from jeopardize the lives of many other innocent people. Thus, a petition was created to close down the u-turn on E11 in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.

Silent by Steven Meisel (Vogue Italy, August 2008)
None of these photos are meant to harm anyone or be insensative to the lose of a loved one. I chose this pictorial composition to bring on an enlightened emotion to the subject at hand. Although the photos are shockingly beautiful, the reality of a senseless death caused by reckless driving and/or drivers is not!

The UAE has so many deaths from traffic accidents, and the numbers of fatalities just keep rising. WE can help by simply going to http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/close-uturns and sign the petition.

Please read carefully ( http://roadsofdeath.wordpress.com) and make a difference─don’t forget to

Rihanna is a Sell Out!

My Friend S and I had a blast at the Rihanna Concert the other night. I previously saw her perform on New Years Eve in Dubai, but it was nothing like this! The stadium was packed and everyone had on their dancing shoes! We were offered a chance to move right in the front of the stage, but we opted not to go there, and thank goodness...people were fighting and pushing like crazy! Other than that, the Rihanna Concert in Paris was fabulous! She looked trendy in all of her costume changes; the stage production was out of this world...and the music...wow! What else is there to say?...It was Rihanna in all her glory!

If you ever get a chance to see Rihanna live in concert, don’t miss the opportunity because you will get your money worth and more!

Is there any artist that you wish you could see in concert (dead or alive) tomorrow? What was the worst concert you have ever experienced? Share your thoughts with us and don’t forget to

Ghetto vs Gaga!

What is the Difference Between Ghetto Fashion and Gaga Fashion???...
NOTHING!

I get so tired of people calling women of color "ghetto" if they are seen dressed in sexy lingerie, or wearing big earrings, stilettos or a fur coat! When Lady Gaga dresses like that, her style is considered avant-garde, and then she becomes a trend setter. I am not putting the Gaga stylists down, but there really is no difference between so called “Ghetto” fashion and “Gaga” fashion, except of course the designer label and the price tag! Sexy clothing is sexy clothing no matter what female race or color is wearing it. If the woman is beautiful, what does it matter what color she is? People rave about the Victoria Secret Runway Show every year, yet no one calls the models slutty, trashy or ghetto…right?!

Snap Shots from the "Bedrock Remix" Video Ft. Rasheeda, Toya, Kandi, "Lola Monroe", & Diamond out of ATL.
Above: I love her hair in this shot, and that eyepatch is crazy!
Cute sexy body suits are the rave this season.  I love the little pocket on the shorts.
I choose this shot because I love the updo hair style, and her make-up is beautiful!
Lace stocking haven't gone out of style yet ladies!
I had to put this photo on my post because these sunglasses are crazy cool!
If you happen to know who the designer is, please let us know!
I've seen Fashion Toast blogger, Rumi, wearing garter belts as an accessory several times
in her photo post. I think they are the newest trend in accessory wear.
Below:"Bedrock Remix" Video Ft. Rasheeda, Toya, Kandi, "Lola Monroe", & Diamond

Anyway, even though I am not a huge fan of the song, the video has some humor in it, and the ATL Queens of Hip Hop and R&B in this video production are gorgeous and fashion fierce! That is my opinion and I’m sticking to it. Bounce!
I would really like to know your opinion on the subject. Is fashion color blind? Answer this question by leaving me a comment and don’t forget to
