October is Breast Cancer Awareness month around the world. Not too long ago, I lost my grandmother to this deadly disease, and I am asking everyone to support the cause for a cure. Some of us can start by giving what ever they can to a charitable organization for those effected by breast cancer, or donating hair to chemo patients, or buying products/service where a percentage of the proceeds goes to medical research, or by actively taking part in a local event to raise awareness about this disease, such as Dubai’s Annual Burjuman Breast Cancer Walk-a-thon (October 30th, 2009 at 8am).

I’m sure there are so many other ways to give support, or be supportive in the fight to cure breast cancer, but one more way is by simply wearing a pink ribbon or something fashionably pink during the month…and who says designer items can’t be part of it?

This Fashion Week Party sounds super exciting and fashionably fun! From what I've heard they have some pretty awesome designers lined up for the runway show, so I wouldn't miss it if I were you! The interior is swank and chic and anyone who "is" anyone will be there dressed to impress! The Fashion Lounge is located at the Jumierah Beach Residence, Amwaj 4, Ground Floor, Marina Road Side in Dubai. I can't wait! Hope to see you all there!

Alexander McQueen's Spring 2010 Footwear

Just when we thought Nina Ricci made the most unusual platform boot in the world (not to mention the tallest), Alexander McQueen comes along and hits us with these incredibly artistic, and might I add, original hoof-like boot and sea creature platforms. No matter if we love them or hate them, one would have to admit that nothing has ever been seen walking down the runway like this! Alexander McQueen is a dreamer, a visionary and an incredible designer. I can’t wait to see what he comes up with next season.

Me & My Michael Kors Sandals

Straight from the New York Spring/Summer 2009 runway show, I bought these wedge platform sandals, by Michael Kors, this past summer from Saks Fifth Avenue (on 5th Avenue) in NYC. They may be a bit chunky, but I absolutely love them! I have worn them with so many different outfits, and believe me they go with practically everything! My leather vest is from Zara, t-shirt is from a small shop in Times Square and my gray jeans are from Pull and Bear

Dubai's It Girl Makes it On the Pages of Harper's Bazaar!

It's finally here!!! I was featured as one of "Dubai's It Girls" in this months issue of Harper's Bazaar Arabia October 2009, which is in stores NOW! I was also interviewed by the editor, and you can read all about it, along with the other interviews of all "It Girls" featured in the issue. There's much more to see, so make sure you pick up a copy of your own! I would love to know what you all think!

If you already have a copy, you probably noticed that I look a bit short (I'm actually 175cm). I was one of the tallest in the bunch, and I'm also the only one NOT wearing 6 inch heels! It was probably a good thing too because if I had worn heels, I would be towering over all the other girls, LOL...So yeah...sorry about that guys! However, the thigh high boots from Top Shop, that I have on, were still ultra chic...don't you think? I Hope you will enjoy this months issue as much as I did!

Rick Owens King of Minimalism

Last season I blogged about Rick Owens with admiration of his minimalistic designs. This Spring/Summer 2010 seasons collection, I must say is just as good or better then the last. Owens keeps his choices of color simple-black, white, beige and gray, but I love the way the garments fit the body. The line of clothing looks sexy, as well as comfortable...and the wedge lace-up sandals are off the chain! I think all women can wear his clothing and look modern and chic! Rick Owen definitely wears the crown for the fab King of chic minimalism. Hail to the KING!

Balenciaga S/S 2010 Goes Urban!

The Spring/Summer 2010 collection, by Balenciaga, brings urban street wear to a new level!. This designer’s urban ready-to-wear line is all about leather, color, great tailoring and a hint of ethnic flair found in some of the design elements…and I absolutely love the Biker Boot Sandals. Cool and bold, with an inner softness, is what a woman wearing these clothes is all about, and I am all about being just that…so lookout for “yours truly” sporting these killer threads, as soon as they reach Dubai. Let the hoody rock!

JustCavalli SS2010 Pure Genius!!

The JustCavalli 2010 Spring/Summer runway show, which was held on September 27 2009, was absolutely phenomenal and perfectly executed to meet the desires of those who love the art of design! When a designer can take past designs from the 1920’s through to the present, and then mix them and make it modern, cool and fun...it is pure genius!

This is exactly what the JustCavalli SS2010 line has done!

All in all, this was my favorite collection of the season in Milan! I was completely blown away. I loved the very feminine dresses and tops made of sheer and light fabrics. A more edgy touch was used in creating the tattered jeans, corset tops and t-shirts.

The collection is exciting, soft, romantic, sexy and edgy enough for anyone of all taste. Thank you so much JustCavalli for bring us all something fresh and new! I love you!!!

Sweets Anyone?

Ok, ok…I know we “The Fashionable Ones” are trying to keep our gorgeous bodies looking fabulously fit and trim, but every now and again we have a need to satisfy our beautiful white sweet tooth! So, where do the stylish people of Dubai go??? Well…now we will all be seen indulging in our favorite sweets at Candylicious, the largest candy store in the world, located at Dubai Mall, on the ground floor, unit 171. How did they know? Hopefully, I’ll see you all there soon!

BODYAMR is back with his new SS10 collection! Sultry, sexy and glamorous is the only way to describe this collection. BODYAMR recently showcased his SS10 collection at London Fashion Week. Earyler this month I, along with other young fashionistas of Dubai, had a photo shoot/interview with Haper's Bazaar Dubai Magazine. I wont give away too many details, but I will tell you it was a very fun and fashionable photo shoot!! I cant wait to see how the pictures turn out!
